Road Trip

Written by Doug Goodman. June 2004

Heading to where I'm goin' to head...fast as I can get there
Wanna find a better place...don't know how to get there
So I stop, pull out a map... to find exactly where I'm at
The drivin' wouldn't seem so slow...if only I knew where to go

I almost passed it by... I almost passed it by...
I almost passed it by... passed it by

Drivin' Miss Daisy down the road...taillights in the distance
Miss Daisy's humming right along...it's me who needs assistance
I know the life I wanna make...but which ramp is the one to take
When it's right I'm sure I'll know...take that ramp and off I go

I almost passed it by...I almost passed it by
I almost passed it by...but I didn't

When I think I have arrived...at somewhere I call livin'
A destination less by choice...but more by where I'm driven
Somehow between here and there...guidance from above, I swear
By my choice or providence...an outer sign or an inner sense

I almost passed it by... I almost passed it by
I almost passed it by... but I didn't
